Description & Usage
Apoquel (oclacitinib) is an oral medication that treats and controls itching, irritation and inflammation from various causes such as flea allergies, food allergies and atopic dermatitis. Apoquel is fast acting and starts to relieve itching and inflammation within 4 hours. For both short term and long term use, Apoquel has minimal impact on the immune system and ensure a better quality of life for the dog and its owner.
Precautions & Side Effects
Apoquel (oclacitinib) side effects are rare, but the most common ones are lethargy, vomiting and diarrhea. They typically resolve on their own. Do not use Apoquel in dogs less than 12 months old or dogs with serious infections. Do not use in breeding dogs, pregnant or lactating females. Apoquel has not been tested with medications used to treat skin conditions such as glucocorticoids, cyclosporines, and other systemic immunosuppressive agents.

What is Apoquel?
Apoquel (oclacitinib) is an anti-itch allergy medicine for dogs 12 months and older which helps reduce itch and inflammation by blocking the allergy at the source. Apoquel is not a steroid, antihistamine or cyclosporine and has minimal effects on the immune system thus improving the dog’s quality of life.
Why does my dog itch so much?
While the occasional itch is typically normal for dogs, allergies, infections, fleas or mites can cause severe, frequent itching and may require medical attention. Persistent scratching or changes in your dog’s skin, hair and coat should be brought up to your veterinarian for proper examination and treatment.
Should I seek medical attention for my itching dog?
If your dog’s itching is severe and persistent, you should make an appointment with your veterinarian. Some common signs to watch out for are:

Can Apoquel be used long-term?
Your veterinarian should determine the dosage and length of treatment appropriate to your dog’s condition. Apoquel can be used to treat short-term flare ups or it can be used to control long term allergy problems.
How quickly does Apoquel start working?
Apoquel will start to relieve your dog’s itching within 4 hours of administering the treatment.
