Description & Usage
Frontline Plus for Cats is a fast-acting and long-lasting monthly flea and tick preventative. It is extremely effective in the control and treatment of fleas, ticks, chewing lice and mites. The main ingredients, fipronil and S-methoprene, not only kill adult fleas but also prevent future infestations by killing eggs and larvae. Frontline Plus stays active for 30 days and is effective against the deer tick (Lyme disease carrier), the lone star tick, the American dog tick and the brown dog tick. Safe for Cats/Kittens 8 weeks of age or older.
Precautions & Side Effects
Your pet may experience some temporary irritation at the site of application. If signs persist or become severe within a few days of application, consult your veterinarian immediately. Approved for use in breeding, pregnant, or nursing animals. Consult with veterinarian before using on sick, medicated or aged animals. Please read the manufacturer's insert before use.
Active Ingredients : Fipronil 9.8% , S-methoprene 8.8%.
Directions
- Snap open the tip of the Frontline Plus applicator carefully after removing the applicator from the foil packaging.
- Part your pet's hair between the shoulder blades until you can see the skin, and place the tip of the applicator on the skin.
- Squeeze applicator and apply the entire contents in a single spot. Repeat monthly.
- Allow 24 hours before bathing or swimming

Is Frontline Plus effective at killing fleas and ticks?
Frontline Plus uses two ingredients to quickly and efficiently get rid of fleas and ticks. Fipronil is an insecticide which disrupts the central nervous system of fleas and ticks while S-Methoprene kills flea eggs and larvea to prevent future infestations. The ingredients are stored in the oil glands of your pet's skin and the medicine self-activates continuously for 30 days through the hair follicles killing all fleas and ticks.
How quickly does Frontline Plus work?
Frontline Plus will generally kill 100% of fleas within 12 hours of application.
Why are there more fleas on my pet after applying Frontline Plus?
This is absolutely normal and a sure sign that Frontline Plus is doing its job! Fleas will rise to the top of your pet's hair and coat as they die.
Can my pet swim or bathe before/after applying Frontline Plus?
You must keep your pet from bathing or swimming for 24 hours after application. If you wish to apply Frontline Plus after bathing your pet, please ensure they are completely dry before application.
Can I use Frontline Plus on my dog or my cat?
Frontline Plus is safe to use on both dogs and cats 8 weeks of age or older. Do not use on other pets/animals.
How often should I use Frontline Plus on my pet?
Frontline Plus should be applied once a month. The medicine stays effective for 30 days.
Can I combine Frontline Plus with other medications?
Contact your vet's office to ask about interactions with other medicine prior to using Frontline Plus.
